What is SHINOBI GAESHI?
In Japan, security spikes are called "Shinobi Gaeshi 忍び返し", which means literally “Ninja Deterrent™” in Japanese. The origin of "Shinobi Gaeshi" dates back to the era of Ninjas ”忍”. These spikes were used to prevent Ninjas from entering buildings and attacking the occupants.
More recently, Shinobi Gaeshi are used to secure homes and facilities from unwanted intruders particularly in the high-end home market. Additionally, they also have been installed as barriers to prevent animals from entering properties and from birds from perching on screen walls or security fences.

We primarily sell directly to our customers through our website, but we also sell through a few select boutiques which we screen on a case by case basis. If you would like more information, please contact us with information about your shop.
Unfortunately, we don't. However, the installation is quite simple. We recommend using stainless steel fasteners to secure each section with at least 3 screws – one on each end and another in the middle. Any qualified contractor or even a good handyman should have no problem installing these beautiful expertly crafted Japanese security/fence spikes.

The metal fittings were mainly used in bespoke rain gutter brackets for Japanese Important Cultural Architecture such as Shrines “神社” and Temples “仏閣”. When you visit Kyoto Japan, You can see find them at Kiyomizu-dera temple "清水寺" and Kyoto Imperial Palace "京都御所". We have brushed up the technology that has been a long-standing tradition and applied it to the production of Shinobi Gaeshi.
